What is a Hangover?

If any of y’all have enjoyed the feeling you get after a having a couple drinks, you’ve probably been in the “Oh-if-there-is-a-god-please-take-me-now,” purgatorial state that in everyday parlance we call: a hangover.

The crazy thing about hangovers is we really don’t know what causes them (apart from y’know, too much hooch) -- in 2014, there were 650,000 cites on PubMed on the subject of alcohol; hangover garnered a grand total of about 400 (page 189 of Adam Roger's excellent book Proof: The Science of Booze).

Water isn't the only way to waste that hangover.

Turns out (thanks to the research of some dedicated party animals), it’s possible that those unwanted morning after feels are an inflammatory response, like what happens after we get an infection (so drinking a handle's-worth of water the next day won't undo last night's good times).

Annnnnndd, y’know what ingredients have tons of anti-inflammatory effects: coffee, cacao, cashews, and MCT oil. Sound like a familiar morning cocktail?

That sleek little Metabrew will have you smooth sailing next time you overdo it on Margarita Monday. Or y’know, if you just want to feel great, taste something awesome, and have so many dreams come true you’re going to have to dream up new dreams, remember, Metabrew is just around the corner!
